New wing at Aimee Copeland's home nears completion

Posted: Updated:
SNELLVILLE, Ga. -

Aimee Copeland is expected to be released from rehab in less than two weeks and her customized home will be ready for her.

Pulte Homes told FOX 5 that they are putting the finishing touches on "Aimee's Wing" at her Snellville home.

The nearly 2,000 square foot addition includes a large room for rehab, a study, an elevator and much more.

It was expected to take 40 days to complete, but builders finished 10 days early.

Pulte will officially turn over the wing, landscaping and a donation to the Copeland family next Wednesday.

Aimee is undergoing rehab after having her hands, left leg and right foot amputated after  contracting a flesh-eating bacteria.

She fell off a homemade zip line at the beginning of May and cut her leg.

Aimee spent months in an Augusta hospital.
