Two Atlanta Fire Department recruits remained hospitalized on Wednesday.
The Atlanta fire chief says the recruits were taking part in a simulated rescue on Monday while dressed in full gear when they experienced heat-related illnesses. A third recruit was treated and released.
Officials say they gave no signs of being in distress.
Mandatory water stations are now being posted near the training exercises.
