MYFOXNY.COM -

There was a report of a fire at 1 World Trade Center on Wednesday morning. But in less than an hour the situation was "de-escalated" after it was determined to be a false alarm.

The call came in just before 8 a.m. for a fire on the 88th floor of the skyscraper in Lower Manhattan.

The New York Office of Emergency Management (OEM) warned to expect traffic delays and possible street closures in the area.

Live video on Fox 5 did not show any visible smoke or flames coming out of the building.  Construction workers were seen on floors in the area below the fire.

At 8:42, the OEM tweeted that the situation was under control but residual traffic delays would continue in the area.

1 WTC is the 104 story building being built at the site of the former twin towers of the World Trade Center.  A beam signed by President Obama was recently raised and attached to the building.
