ALPHARETTA, Ga. -

One local group was helping to ensure that hundreds of students have the supplies they need to succeed this year.

Sunday was Back-To-School Eve for thousands of metro Atlanta students and an Alpharetta church hall played host to many to help them get their school year started right.

Piles of "Tools for School" covered the tables to help parents cross off a line of their school supply list.

The event put on by Act Together Ministries was meant to help families make ends meet during a time of year that can be very expensive.

It was not just supplies, but haircuts as well as wellness and dental screenings to help get a fresh start.
