A child has been reunited with the prosthetic leg he used after it was found on the side of a northeast Georgia road and turned in to police.
Authorities say a jogger found the small prosthesis July 23. Police speculated that it had fallen from a moving car due to a scuff mark from where it slid across the pavement.
A friend of a family that just moved from Oregon to Georgia spotted a news story about the leg, and it then became clear the leg belongs to 6-year-old Blü Riggs. However, his mother Melissa Riggs says he can no longer use the prosthesis because it was damaged when it fell from the car.
Riggs says her son was born with a deformed leg and endured an amputation at age 2.
