Evening storms left behind a trail of damage in parts of north Georgia.
Parts of Forsyth County got hit hard. Several homes went up in flames, while trees fell on others.
Five families were forced out of their homes at the Homesteaders Mobile Home Parks in Forsyth County after trees smashed through several roofs.
"We've had significant damage here at this mobile home complex. I've got three homes that have been virtually destroyed by falling trees, another that is damaged, and another that has the potential to be damaged," said Forsyth County Fire Department Division Chief Jason Shivers.
Elsewhere in Forsyth County, firefighters responded to four different lightening related fires including one on Crossland Drive.
"Heard a lightning strike within 10, 15 feet of myself and the lightning bolt kind of knocked me over," said Jonathan Brown.
Brown says he looked up to see his neighbor's home on fire -- neighbors who didn't realize that there even was a fire.
"Went and knocked on the door to get the two girls and mom out of the house," said Brown.
On Loblolly Lane it was an Alpharetta firefighter whose home was struck by lightning.
"It looks like we had a lightning stroke that came in on the house and caught the attic on fire," said Alpharetta firefighter Shane Lively.
There were no reports of injuries. The Red Cross was working to find homes for those displaced.
