Clayton County Schools delays vote on shortened day

Posted: Updated:
CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -

The Clayton County school board delayed a vote to shorten one school per week due to parental objections.

The initial decision to shorten Wednesday classes was announced in a letter sent home to parents on July 18.

Some parents quickly reacted, saying that a shorter school day for students also affects parents' work schedules.

Educators say the shortened day would keep teachers from working extremely long hours.

The superintendent will now get more feedback from parents before the board votes.
