DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -
State Representative Karla Drenner is calling on people who live in DeKalb County to sound off about the possibility of cell phone towers being built on public school property.
Drenner spoke Friday at the state Capitol, saying "the unknown" is what's so frightening.
Drenner is concerned the cell towers could put students' health in danger, among other things.
Drenner is encouraging residents to vote against a referendum that will be on the July 31st primary ballot.
In addition to health concerns, some residents worry the towers would hurt their property values, but supporters say rent from the cell towers could help address the school system's budget problems.
