ATLANTA -
Ongoing concerns about crime on and around Atlanta's college campuses have united city and campus police departments.
The departments and city officials formed a campus safety task force and set a deadline of 30 days to address crime on campus.
They held the first meeting on Friday.
Clark Atlanta University's police chief said his department has found success with more cameras and lighting, controlling access to campus areas and educating students.
The cooperation between the city and campus police got a boost earlier this month in the form of a new police cruiser.
Mayor Kasim Reed and Georgia Tech officials unveiled the cruiser and said it will speed response times and increase coordination between the police departments.
