Five years after a mother and her daughters were murdered in Powder Springs. , her family is still seeking justice.
Jane Kuria, 45, her daughters, 19-year-old daughter, Isabelle and 16-year-old Anabelle, were bludgeoned to death. Two boys, Kuria's 7-year-old son Jeremy and his 10-year-old cousin P.K. survived.
Kuria's cousin, Njau Waira, said the two were injured but weren't able to provide authorities with information about the attacks.
"I believe it's because when they were injured they were sleeping," said Waira.
Homicide investigators in the past indicated they had gone over reams of evidence in search of a motive, but said they have no comment now who committed the crime and why.
Waira said that he believes the assailant is someone that the family knew. He says his opinion is shared by many in the Kenyan community.
Kuria, a widow, moved from Kenya in 2001. Some family members previously told us she came to metro Atlanta so her daughters could escape the horror of female circumcision, which she endured. Her cousin believes the killer is still nearby.
"How can he live with himself knowing that he did that to three people and almost killed two boys and he's still around," said Waira.
The family is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
