A Stone Mountain family says they're overwhelmed by the generosity of FOX 5 viewers.
Floyd Thompson, 87, returned home from a trip on Sunday to find his home a mess. The people that broke in stole very little but broke almost everything inside. They also used the floor as a bathroom.
A Christian-based organization donated workers to rip out Thompson's carpet and clean up the mess the burglars made.
The organization is also donating furniture.
"It's totally overwhelming. I've been so mad about what they did that I guess finally the anger is starting to dissipate. And I am just touched to the bottom of my very heart, the way people are reaching out to my father," said Floyd's daughter, Judy Parker.
Another donor is giving Thompson a new wheel chair and a contractor wants to retro fit Thompson's home so he can move around easier.
"It's just amazed me what people have done," said Parker.
The Thompsons say they have something, they didn't have when we first told their story on Monday -- hope.
"Between the help of the good Lord and the people, we're going to make it. We're going to make it again," said Thompson.
Thompson said that he was afraid he would have to move out of his house, but he's confident now that he'll be able to stay.
