Get Up and Go is heading to a festival that is in a category all its own! The location is about two hours north of Atlanta in the city of Blairsville. The event is the 3rd Annual Green Bean Festival.
The folks in Blairsville know how to make green beans fun! There's a green bean pizza eating contest, and there will also be a green bean recipe contest, entertainment by the green bean community kazoo band and a beauty pageant.
The party starts early with a square dance Friday night on the historic Blairsville Town Square. The festival runs all day Saturday, July 28 from 7 am to 7 pm at the Union County Farmers Market. Admission and parking are free!
