Marietta police seek ban to foam parties

Posted: Updated:
MARIETTA, Ga. -

Marietta police are seeking to ban so-called "foam parties."

The parties, popular with teens, are held in nightclubs that include large amounts of bubbles and foam as well as encourage bathing suits and little clothing. No IDs are required.

Police say minors as young 13 show up and mix with adults and alcohol.

Marietta police are now asking the city council to ban anyone under 21 from city bars and lounges.

Critics say there are city bars and lounges that don't host foam parties. They say putting an ordinance in place would unfairly punish them

The measure is up for discussion at a city council work session next month.
