Police say the cocaine was in clear sight of the 13-month-old baby, who allegedly ate pieces of it while none of the adults were watching him.
"We do know from speaking to a couple of witnesses that the cocaine was sitting open on the table," said Sgt. Lee Gragg of the Palmetto Police Department.
The baby's 17-year-old mother, who was at the home at the time, brought the boy to the hospital after he began vomiting.
Investigators issued arrest warrants for 34-year-old Ebony Daniel and 22-year-old Charlie Martin after they received a call from Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
"We received a call from Piedmont Newnan Hospital saying that they were treating a 13-month-old child that had been exposed and possibly ingested an unknown amount of crack cocaine," said Gragg.
Police say Daniel and Martin face charges of possession of cocaine, cruelty to children, and reckless conduct. The two turned themselves into authorities on Tuesday.
The baby was released after spending two nights in the hospital and is expected to be OK. Police are waiting for toxicology results that will determine how much cocaine the baby actually swallowed.
Daniel and Martin are being held in the South Fulton Regional Jail awaiting their first court appearance. They are expected to face a judge at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
