Teen accidentally shoots, kills 6-year-old sister in Monroe Co.

MONROE COUNTY, Ga. -
A 6-year-old girl died after accidentally being shot by her 13-year-old brother in Monroe County early Tuesday.
Police say the teen was shooting armadillos just after midnight with his father in the yard when he accidentally fired the gun and hit his sister in the abdomen. She later died at the hospital.

A judge has sentenced Michael Parson to the maximum of 35 years in jail for the attempted murder of his wife. On Thursday, Parson was convicted of shooting his wife, Adina, eight times in 2012.
