DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -

Imagine the shock of a DeKalb County congregation when a man who had been shot walked into the middle of the sanctuary during the middle of a church service.

It happened at the St. John Baptist Church on Wilkins Road. Pastor Tommy Dunn says he was towards the end of his sermon when it happened. The man told them he was tied up and abandoned in the home next door, but managed to escape.

The pastor says the man told him he was kidnapped by four men and was shot after he escaped.

In addition to providing first aid, the congregation prayed for the man.

Pastor Dunn says he canceled his second Sunday service. He says he hopes to visit the man soon at the hospital.

DeKalb County police are investigating the incident.
