Road named in honor of slain Clayton Co. deputy

Posted: Updated:
CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -

It was one year ago that Clayton County Deputy Rick Daly was gunned down in a traffic stop. His family and law enforcement officers dedicated a road in his honor on Friday.

The road leading to the Clayton County Justice Center off Tara Boulevard was named the Deputy Rick Daly Memorial Boulevard. Daly's mother, Joyce, says her son would have appreciated the honor, but that he wouldn't want anyone to fuss over it.

Daly's killer, Jonathan Bun, was convicted earlier in the year. He is to be sentenced next month.

Joyce Daly says God would forgive him if Bun asked for it, but God also demands justice. She told the crowd she wants life without parole for Bun.
