An Atlanta homeowner pulled his gun and ran after two men who he says tried to break in to his Cabbagetown home on Thursday.
The homeowner said that he and his wife were inside their house on Kirkwood Avenue feeding their baby when the attempted break-in occurred. The homeowner, who asked to remain anonymous, said it was still daylight outside.
"When they saw me, they took off running and from there I chased them out the backdoor with the gun. And once they saw me pull the gun on them, they hit the ground and they took off," he said.
He said he believe the two would-be burglars were teenagers.
"By the time I got to the street, there was already a cop running up the road so I don't know if they were already on the hunt for somebody or if he just heard me screaming," he said.
Atlanta police say they were in the area looking for suspects who stole a laptop.
Neighbors say they're on the lookout for anyone who doesn't belong.
"The last thing in the world I'd ever want to do is shoot somebody but I will if they're breaking into our house. And a lot of people around the neighborhood…are armed," said Nicole Lathouse-Gilbert.
Police spent the next few hours patrolling the streets.
