COBB COUNTY, Ga. -
There will soon be more eyes trying to catch drivers going around stopped school buses in Cobb County.
The school board voted to allow an Arizona company to install cameras on buses and then issue $300 fines to people caught passing the buses.
The company will keep 75 percent of the revenue from the citations while absorbing the cost of the cameras. The district will split the rest of the money with police.
In comparison, police can fine you up to $1,000 if they catch you passing a stopped bus and dock six points off your license.
The measure is expected to be approved by the Cobb County Commission.
