After working 70 years as a mechanic with American Airlines, the company gave 87-year-old Al Blackman a ride in a vintage DC-3.

According to the New York Times, the flight treated him to a great view of New York. Blackman told the paper, "I think they wanted an antique to fly in the antique."

Rewarding an employee for years of faithful service is common with many companies. Sometimes they are given a watch, or a pen.
