Man gets life in killing of 3 in Decatur

DECATUR, Ga. (AP) - A judge has sentenced a DeKalb County man to three life sentences without possibility of parole in the killing of 3 people, including a toddler.

Ronald Clemons was sentenced after pleading guilty Monday to multiple counts of malice murder and felony murder. District Attorney Robert James says Clemons opened fire after an argument following a heated game of dominoes at a Decatur home in September 2009.

James says Clemons left the home saying he would "light the place up." James says Clemons returned to the home and fatally shot 56-year-old Michael Thomas, 39-year-old Grover Strickland and 3-year-old Janiyah Daniels. A woman was also wounded in the shooting.

James says Clemons "will spend the rest of his life behind bars for his reckless and senseless acts of violence."
