WALESKA, Ga. -

It was a special reunion this weekend for brothers nearly a half century in the making.

Larry Wilkerson, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, last saw his siblings when he was only 6 years old.

He was adopted by another family after his parents' deaths. Circumstances kept him separated from his older brothers Ed and Jerry Garrett for nearly five decades.

Recently, Wilkerson's nephew did some sleuthing through Facebook and helped organize a reunion.

The family plans to stay in touch. They have been talking on the phone for hours at a time, trying to piece together what they have missed over the years.
