PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -

A Peachtree City woman was shot Friday night after trying to flee from two men entered and demanded money.

A spokesperson for the Peachtree City Police Department tells FOX 5 News that the two men armed with shotguns entered the home on Woodland Drive around 10 p.m. Friday through an unlocked door. A man inside the home came out of the next room to investigate the noise.

While the robbers were distracted, the woman was able to run out of the house. One of the men ran after her and opened fire. She was struck by one of the shotgun pellets before she was able to reach a neighbor's house to call for help.

The woman was transported to the hospital and was later released. The woman spoke to FOX 5 News from her home on Saturday about the incident.

Anyone with information should call the Peachtree City Police Department.
