2 women accused of elder abuse in Carroll County

CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. -

Authorities in Carroll County arrested two women on Tuesday, accusing them of elder abuse and neglect.

The Carroll County Sheriff's Office says officers discovered a 57-year-old woman in poor condition, and appeared to be suffering from malnutrition. The woman was transported to Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton.

They did not say where the woman was found.

Authorities arrested Brenda Edgens, 53, and Peggy Sanford, 52. They are facing charges of unlawful neglect of a disabled adult. Both are being held in the Carroll County Jail pending a bond hearing.
