COBB COUNTY, Ga. -

Friends and family are mourning a teenager who was killed in a crash in Cobb County.

Ryan Aschenbach was behind the wheel when police say he lost control of his car and crashed into another vehicle late Saturday night. The accident happened at the intersection of Trickum Road and Netherstone Drive in Marietta.

Aschenbach, 18, passed away at the hospital on Sunday. He had just graduated from Lassiter High School. Friends say he planned to attend Kennesaw State in the fall.

The teen's sudden death has left friends stunned.

"He was a good friend. He was the nicest person you could've ever met," said Lucy Wills.

Two friends, also recent graduates, were in the car with Aschenbach. FOX 5 has learned that 18-year-old Christopher Heitzman remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Neighbors say the terrible accident is just the latest in a string of wrecks along the blind curve on Trickum Road.

"Tough way to learn a lesson and the county needs to do something about this curve right here," said Gary Childers.

Police said they do not expect to file charges in the crash.

Funeral plans are pending.
