Apartment fire in Lawrenceville displaces four families

Fire crews responded to a Lawrenceville apartment complex early Sunday morning.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -
A fast moving apartment fire in Lawrenceville forced five families out of their homes early Sunday morning.
Gwinnett County firefighters say they got the call around 6:30 a.m. Sunday. A fire had broken out at the Water Vista Apartments on Water Vista Parkway near Lawrenceville.
Fire investigators say the fire started in a vacant apartment on the second floor.
The Atlanta Red Cross say four families were displaced and a total of 12 units were destroyed in the fire. They will assist the seven adults and nine children with food, shelter and clothing.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
