One day after celebrating the Fourth of July, George Washington has a good reason to keep the party going. Georgia Lottery officials say a Macon man bearing the same name as the first President of the United States won $25,000.
Washington, 51, bought the winning ticket on Thursday at the Broadway Food Mart in Macon. Lottery officials say he screamed when he learned he was winner-- ironically, playing a game called Red Hot Cherries.
It doesn't sound like Washington will spend all his cash on cherry trees. He told lottery officials he plans to try and save some of his winnings.
