ATLANTA -

Atlanta police say a man was kidnapped during a home invasion late Wednesday night in Cabbagetown. It happened on Estoria Street near Kirkwood Avenue.

Police say people were out on their porch when three men forced them inside the home and robbed them. As the three men left, they kidnapped a 23-year-old man.

"That person has since returned and he's ok. We had him checked out by our EMT's to make sure he doesn't have any physical problems as of the situation. Like I said, he appears to be ok, said Captain Adam Lee, III of the Atlanta Police Department.

FOX 5 spoke with a man at the scene who says he was driving on Memorial Drive near Columbia when he spotted a man walking. He says when he offered to help the man, the man told him he'd been kidnapped, taken to an ATM and once his captors received money, he was left there. The driver says he brought the man home.

Police say cell phones and other items were taken during the incident.
