ATLANTA -

Some people said they waited more than three hours for service at DMV in downtown Atlanta on the first day since new rules for renewing drivers' licenses were implemented.

With no air conditioning, the temperature soared up to 90 degrees inside the office.

New rules mean that drivers wanting to renew, re-instate or get a new license now have to come in-person.

They also need a legal form of ID, like birth certificate or a passport, not your old license, plus proof OF residency, like a utility bill or bank statement, and a social security card or W-2 form with your social security number.
