SEC seeks missing Georgia investment adviser

ATLANTA (AP) - A Georgia investment adviser is missing along with millions he invested.

The Securities and Exchange Commission said Monday it has received a federal court order to freeze the assets of Aubrey Lee Price and several associated businesses. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/MPCRb5 ) reported that Price sent a letter to investors allegedly admitting he made false statements to conceal losses of more than $20 million.

The associate director of the SEC in Atlanta, William Hicks, said Price made woeful transactions and now he and the money are missing.

Price lives in Lowndes County near the Florida line. Lowndes County Sheriff Chris Prine said Price left home June 16 for a business trip to Guatemala. He didn't arrive at his destination and he hasn't been heard from since.
