ROME, Ga. -

Floyd County police are investigating the Monday death of a 2-year-old girl as a homicide after a coroner says she died of multiple blunt traumatic injuries to the head.

Floyd County Deputy Coroner Gene Proctor says an autopsy revealed Kailee Marie Parker was "assaulted by others."

The Rome News-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/N222HT) funeral services for Kailee will be held Friday at 11 a.m. She was pronounced dead at 2:30 p.m. Monday after a series of events that happened at her home. A family member who thought Kailee was having a seizure ran from the residence with the little girl to a neighbor's home.

Nearby motorists were flagged down to give the child CPR. She died at Floyd Medical Center.
