FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -

The parents of a 5-year-old girl who was hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver earlier this week say they hope that person hears their plea.  They say they're grieving their precious young daughter's death, and they want the driver responsible to come forward.

The lives of Ja'Leah Felix's parents were changed forever on Tuesday afternoon when someone hit and killed the little girl as she tried to cross Campbellton Road.  Police say the accident happened around 5 p.m. near Sandtown Park as Ja'Leah was on the way to the playground.

Ja'Leah was visiting her dad, who lives in College Park.  She lived with her mother in Colorado.

"She was my everything, my only child," Rose St. Louis, Ja'Leah's mom, said sobbing.

St. Louis and Lawrence Felix, Ja'Leah's father, are begging for the driver involved to please come forward.

"We just ask that you come forward because that was our baby," said her father.

Police say they're looking for the driver of a dark SUV or pickup truck that might have been seen in the area around the time of the accident.

"She wasn't a dog or a squirrel or some stray animal.  She was a person," said Felix.

Anyone with information about the vehicle involved in the accident is asked to call Fulton County police.
