LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -

The group that regulates Georgia lawyers recommends an 18-month suspension for an attorney caught by FOX 5's I-Team stealing from taxpayers.

Lawrenceville attorney Christopher T. Adams avoided prosecution by paying back the money and throwing himself on the mercy of the state supreme court.

But I-Team reporter Randy Travis says the state bar's recommended punishment has prompted loud protests from others.
