Sheriff's deputies from Newton and Butts counties raided a home and captured an alleged armed robber on Thursday.
Investigators have accused the suspect, Brandon Cobb, and several others of attempting to rob a motorist in Butts County.
Deputies say that the victim flashed a large amount of bills at bar last weekend. At least five men then followed him from the bar and surrounded his vehicle and fired a shot into the car. The man was able to drive away, running over one of the suspects in the process.
Butts County Sheriff Gene Pope advised people to be discreet when carrying a large amount of cash in public.
Cobb was out on parole for other charges. He denied any involvement in the attempted robbery.
Investigators have also arrested David Bunn, Wesley Clark and Eric Rhodes. They are still seeking one other suspect.
