Atlanta Braves pitcher Brandon Beachy has successful surgery

The Atlanta Braves say pitcher Brandon Beachy underwent successful Tommy John surgery on Thursday.
Beachy underwent the surgery to repair a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, according to the Braves. They say the surgery was performed in Gulf Breeze, Florida.
Beachy, 25, went 5-5 with a 2.00 ERA in 13 starts for the Braves this season, according to the Braves.
