Get Up and Go: Northwest Georgia Hot Air Balloon Festival

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

For Friday's Get Up and Go, our destination is less than two hours northwest of Atlanta near the Chattahoochee National Forest.  We're headed to Summerville, Georgia for the 5th Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival!

The festival starts Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. and runs all day Saturday and then on Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.

As long as the weather cooperates, hot air balloons will fly each morning and evening around 6 p.m. If you want to get the feel of ballooning without getting carried away, you can buy a tethered hot air balloon ride.

There will be rides, games, a craft show, live entertainment, an antique car show, and a mechanical bull.

The 5th Annual Northwest Georgia Hot Air Balloon Festival will be held at Chattooga High School and benefits the Chattooga High School Athletic Departments. Parking is free. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
