A family is in mourning after losing two children in a boat crash in Lake Lanier.
Jake Prince, 9, was killed in the collision Monday night. Crews are still searching for his 13-year-old brother, Griffin, who was thrown from the boat. An older son, Ryan, survived the accident.
Family members said that Griffin and Jake loved the outdoors.
"We ride dirt bikes together. They're active in the scouts. They are a very religious family. They go to church every Sunday," said the boy's grandfather, Mike Prince, Sr. "They are just the perfect family. Probably one of the only non-dysfunctional families in the entire country."
Prince Sr. owns a commercial boat shop called The Grass Shack. Prince said that he actually sold the boat allegedly involved in the accident to Bennett.
"I sold him the boat that he hit the pontoon with, I believe in '05," said Prince.
Prince said the accident has been extremely hard on the family.
"They're crushed, obviously, as we all are," said Prince.
Prince said the family has no anger, only sadness.
"[Bennett] is a great guy. Super guy," said Prince.
"They were phenomenal examples of the life of Jesus Christ…loving and friendly and very outgoing," said Stuart Clements, a church elder.
Friends dropped flowers off at the family home as time passed with no sign of Griffin.
Divers will resume the search on Thursday morning.
A memorial fund has been set up for Jake and Griffin Prince at Wells Fargo Bank. Donations are being accepted at any Wells Fargo location under the account number 7581668121.
