SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Police say a stolen pickup truck struck two women standing on a street corner in Savannah before it crashed into a utility pole a block away.

Savannah-Chatham police say a 17-year-old driver told them he left the keys in his 2001 Chevrolet Silverado at a convenience store when a woman climbed inside and drove off.

Police say the pickup then turned a corner and struck the two women as they were talking in Ott Street near an intersection.

The women who were struck, 68-year-old Georgia Thomas and 46-year-old Vickie White, were taken to Memorial University Medical Center.

Thomas was admitted for treatment of serious injuries. White was treated for injuries described as minor.

Police said they were still searching for the driver, who ran after crashing into the utility pole.
