ATLANTA -

Mayor Kasim Reed unveiled new details into a streetcar project for Atlanta on Monday.

Engines for new streetcars will be manufactured at Siemens plant in Alpharetta.

Plans call for a streetcar route to extend more than two and a half miles through downtown Atlanta.

The mayor says it'll give people another way to get around and it's expected to boost tourism.

The street car project is expected to begin service in 2013.
