ATLANTA -

A woman in south Buckhead says she was traumatized when she witnesses a pack of coyotes attacking her cat. The three coyotes were captured on a neighbor's surveillance camera.

When pets were first noticed missing in the community, neighbors thought it was because of a pack of wild dogs. But Renee Wright says she witnessed the three coyotes attacking and killing her cat Saturday morning in the Loring Heights neighborhood.

Wildlife experts say coyotes have moved in to Georgia at a record pace. Even in the city of Atlanta, there are at least 3,000 coyote sightings a year.

Officials say coyotes can be hunted year round in Georgia and so far 200 people have been certified to exterminate the animals.

Wright says some of her neighbors are talking about hiring someone to trap the animals.
