ATLANTA -

The Atlanta Braves were "Striking Out" prostate cancer this Father's Day. Sunday, they honored survivors on the outfield before game time.

The prostate is a small, lemon-sized gland found at the base of a men's bladder. About one out of every ten men develops cancer in that gland during their lifetime. Sunday, the Braves and Major League Baseball use Father's Day to honor survivors and spread awareness to all men.

Urologists recommend every man over the age of 50 have both physical exam as well as a blood test each year. Black men and men with a history of cancer in their family are at a high risk. They should begin their annual exam at the age of 40.
