Ga. State U creates fast-track to nursing Ph.D.

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Georgia State University is launching a new Ph.D. program in nursing that fast-tracks undergraduate students wanting to go into health care research.

The program will help move younger nursing students into research careers more quickly, giving them more time to train nursing students and do research to improve the field. Just a handful of nursing programs in the country have a similar bachelor's-to-Ph.D. program.

The program will begin this year and hopes to enroll up to 10 students each fall. Ultimately, it will double the number of nursing Ph.D. students coming out of Georgia State.
