ATLANTA -

The Atlanta Zoo opened its doors to a select group on Friday night.

About 200 chronically ill and disabled children and their families got to enjoy the zoo as part of the Dreamnight Event.

Atlanta Hawks player Josh Powell helped sponsor the event for the second year in a row.

The event was not just about the animals.  There was also face-painting, entertainment and food.

The Dreamnight event first started in 1996 in the Netherlands.
