COBB COUNTY, Ga. -

The screams can be heard a little louder and maybe a bit more frequently than usual Friday afternoon at Six Flags Over Georgia. Some patrons took part in a marathon roller coaster ride for a very worthy cause.

Six Flags teamed up with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta for their first ever Children's Coasterthon. The event took over the Great American Scream Machine.

Participants attempted to endure 10 hours of continuous rides.

In all, five people went around 121 times and raised a total of $5,200. Each won a Six Flags season pass.

CDC employee Paul Schramm raised the most money -- $1,200 -- and won a trip to Six Flags Great America in Chicago.

The event is part of the Miracle Month campaign. For more information on the campaign visit choa.org/sixflags.
