Good Day's Awesome Dads - June 4 - Atlanta News, Weather, Traffic, and Sports | FOX 5

Father's Day is nearly upon us and our Good Day viewers have been sending in their stories about their awesome dads. Jennifer Gage, Cameron, Chloe and Carli Carpenter and Hannah Parker sent in their stories for Monday!

"My name is Jennifer Gage. I wanted to write and tell you about my father. His name is James Elzey. He and my mother have been married for over 30 years. In that time, I can honestly say I can't remember a time when he wasn't there for us. He has worked long hours to make sure that his family is happy and healthy. But he's always been there when we've needed him no matter what. He has stopped what he was doing if one of his children were taken to the hospital or if they got sick at school, he'd go and pick them up. He has worked at a few different jobs since my parents have been married. His last job was working with Clayton County in their Planning and Development Department. I can't think of a time when he wasn't there for all of us. He was even there to walk me down the aisle the day I got married. He was also there in the delivery room with me when I had my son. Yes, my father is a great man. I love him very much. In fact, he and my mother still live in the same house that they bought back in 1989. They are still happy together to this day."

"I would like to tell you why our pawpaw, Bobby Briscoe, is such a great pawpaw. He keeps us in the summer time when we are out of school. He takes us fishing, to the park to play in the water, to the ball field and we go to yard sales and he buys us toys. He cooks really good food too. We love our pawpaw. He is deaf and cant hear that good. He reads our lips. We answer the phone for him when we are at his house. He goes with us when we have to go to the doctor. When we don't feel good we go to our pawpaw's and he gives us popsicles. Our pawpaw is the best pawpaw ever!"

"I have been blessed beyond measure having such a loving father. Michael James Parker is my hero. He has always been there for me no matter what chaos that I put him through. From letting me put ponytails all over his head, playing Barbies, putting together toys, and exploring the back yard; he never thought twice about playing with me. He works for Delta Air Lines and always took our family on the best summer vacations. My dad is the definition of "gentleman" from opening doors, walking in the rain to get one of us a jacket because we are cold, to squeezing Momma's lemon in her water so her fingers stay clean. He taught me right from wrong with the Holy Bible and lives the life to back it up. My friends have always said they wished they could have a dad like me. Wow, how lucky am I to be the one blessed with his love."
