CARTERSVILLE, Ga. -

Authorities were searching the area near a boat rental facility on Allatoona Lake on Saturday afternoon after a man reportedly never resurfaced.

A spokesperson with the Bartow County Sheriff's Office says the witness say the two men at the Naval Recreation facility on Sandtown Road near Cartersville just before 1;30 p.m. Saturday. They were able to pull one of the men out of the water, but lost track of the second man.

Divers searched the lake for the man until the evening hours. They say the men are between the ages of 26 and 30.

Family members tell FOX 5 News that a Cedartown man was on a raft without a life vest being pulled by a boat when he fell into the water. The driver of the boat jumped into the water to try to get him out, but got into trouble himself. Those on the boat were able to get the driver out of the water, but were not able to reach the man who was on the raft in time.
