Pollo Tropical's affordable menu options feature items such as the restaurant's classic and all-time favorite citrus marinated grilled chicken, fall-off-the-bone Caribbean riblets, tender roasted pork, and grilled tropical wings.  Kernel corn, plantains and balsamic tomatoes are just a few of the appetizing sides that complement each meal.

If Pollo Tropical's mouth-watering menu items inspire you to have your own barbeque at home, the beach, park or elsewhere, here are some barbequing tips to help you carry it out:

1. Start with a clean grill (and always keep it clean)
2. Removing old ashes assures good air circulation, which is essential for good-tasting food and general safety
3. Be sure to wash everything after handling raw meat such as plates and utensils used
4. Always protect yourself with an apron and oven mitts when near the grill
5. Prepare the fire at least half an hour before barbecuing, since it takes charcoal about 30 minutes to be ready for cooking.
6. Apply cooking oil or nonstick cooking spray on the grill before the grill is heated to prevent food from sticking.
8. Use tongs to turn the meat.  A fork will create holes and allowing the natural juices to escape, causing the meet to lose its flavor and become chewy.
9. When barbequing meet, it is best to turn it only once. Turning too often slows cooking and may cause the meat to dry.
10. Apply the sauces, such as Pollo Tropical's Guava BBQ sauce, at the end since they burn easily and will cause the food to have a burnt taste.
11. Remember to soak the coals with water before disposing them to prevent any fires.
