We'll have a lot more stories coming up between now and Father's Day -- on air and even more on our website. If you want to get your story in, send it to goodday@myfoxatlanta.com.
"I want to honor my Father, Bishop William C. Harris. For his entire life he has dedicated his life to fighting for civil rights and those less fortunate. Although he has never been a rich man, he has always managed to help anyone in need even if it meant giving the last of what he had. Since the early 1960's he has fought to ensure that the rights of the minority were recognized, through the many marches and demonstrations he participated in, walking alongside some of our Country's great civil rights leaders such as, Martin Luther King, John Lewis, Hosea Williams and many more.
"Even participating in the recent demonstrations for Trayvon Martin at the Capital by leading it in a civil rights song. I even had the privilege to walk as a teenager on my first march in Forsyth County, Ga. , the experience gave be a greater appreciation for those who fought and even died for our rights, probably one of the most powerful and memorable father and daughter moments we have shared. We have both endured recently our separate bouts with cancer related illnesses and through this time we have become even closer and I have greatly admired the God given strength that he exhibited as he fought prostate cancer. Although age and illnesses have caused him to use a cane to get around, he still manages to be a daily integral part in the lives of his grand kids and great grand kids as well as anyone that may call on him, somehow he still finds the strength to be there"
"I could go on fill up pages and pages of the many wonderful moments and reasons why I love him because there are truly may to share. I am very proud to be his daughter and grateful that God blessed me with such a God fearing and wonderful Father"
Happy Fathers Day Daddy,

"My father was an amazing and hard-working man. He did what he had to do to support all nine of his children. There has never been anyone I've met that knew my dad and didn't like him. He was liked by everyone. His smile could turn your gloomy day into a shiny one. He passed away 6 months ago. We'll be celebrating Father's Day this year by sending him letters tied to balloons. He was and still is my hero..... my #1!"

"My dad has always been there for me. He is so knowledgeable in so many areas. I make a point to learn something from him each time I talk to him. I have always been a single parent, but he has helped me raise my daughter in a co-parenting role. He has had a long battle with cancer, but even in the hospital he was the person who was strong for everybody. He is cancer free today nothing short of a miracle. I thank God for giving me such a wonderful father."

"When I was little, dad would take me places on his bicycle. I had a child's seat right behind his. It was so fun, like being on a ride at an amusement park. He'd be peddling up the hill and I'd say, "Faster daddy, faster!" He'd also keep a popsicle for me in his shirt pocket. It would stain his shirt purple, but he'd do it anyway because grape was my favorite flavor."

"I had the best dad in the world. He was a kind, loving man. I never saw him without a smile on his face or a hug for us. He worked hard all his life to give us the best he could and I miss him every day. I love you daddy."

"My daddy is special because he's always there when I need him no matter what the situation. Maybe he is the one and only dad in my life that will take care of me and cherish me through out my life. He loves me for who I am mostly because he sticks with me he is just special of everything he's funny and treats me like a princess. My dad means the world to me and I love dearly. I will always be his little girl whether I'm 34!"
