The latest winner of "American Idol," Phillip Phillips, will not have surgery on Tuesday as previously scheduled.
Surgery for Phillips, who suffers from a serious congenital kidney condition, was rescheduled because he has a bad sinus infection that has triggered a high fever.
Phillips' condition produces kidney stones so large they cannot pass.
His right kidney is severely damaged and the 21-year-old Leesburg, Ga. native has endured eight prior surgeries.
He performed – and won – on "Idol" despite flare-ups that required a stent to be surgically inserted two months ago.
