Chilli: Taking care of yourself a priority

ATLANTA -

Busy moms have a hard time getting and staying in shape. One the busiest moms known says she can help.

It's hard to catch up with Rozonda Thomas. Between being a mom to 15-year-old son Tron and an entrepreneur, the music artist known as Chilli is now gracing the covers of fitness magazines.

"I just want to live a long, healthy life. I want to watch my son grow up, have children and then his kids have some kids. And I think at that point I'll be ready to go," said Thomas.

The self-proclaimed health nut says taking care of your body must be a priority for busy moms. She's says 30 minutes a day in your own home can get you there. She says start with ankle weights and walk around.

She says resistance bands make for a good arm workout. Chilli says pull your feet in, and use the same resistance band to work your triceps.

Another good exercise that requires no equipment is the pushup. If you can't push up the traditional way, she says using your ankle weights, cross your legs and do a modified version.

Chilli says working out means nothing if you don't have a healthy diet. That means decreasing your sugar intake and increasing your fresh fruits and vegetables.  And it's possible to eat healthy on the go. And here is Chilli's healthy Waffle House meal: Egg whites, diced grilled chicken, and steamed hash browns with tomatoes and pickles on top!
